The ACES Ravens ended their season at the JCN Relays on Tuesday afternoon. The 8^th Grade Boys had the best finish of the day, finishing in 2^nd Place. The 8^th Grade Girls finished 3^rd, while both the 7^th Grade Boys and Girls teams finished 4^th. Congratulations on a great season to all the Raven track and field athletes!

The ACES Ravens had a very successful day at the DVL Championships track meet on May 6^th in Effingham. The 7^th Grade Girls captured the DVL crown, winning the meet with 55 total points, while claiming DVL gold medals and the League Plaque. The 8^th Grade Girls Team and the 8^th Grade Boys Team finished in second place to bring home silver medals for ACES. The Ravens combined score among all four divisions was enough for a 3^rd Place Overall Finish!

The 7^th grade girls were paced by Megan Goracke’s wins in the 100 and 200, Heather Ronnebaum’s win in the 400, and 2^nd Place finish in the Mile, and the Sprint Medley’s (Maddie Baniewicz, Haley Miller, Megan Goracke, and Heather Ronnebaum) winning run.

In the 8^th grade girls division, Grace Siebert led the Ravens with her win in the 400, and 2^nd Place finish in the 200. Hana Ronnebaum won the 800, and took 2^nd in the Mile. The 4x100 relay team of Ally Keimig, Avery Wagner, Hana Ronnebaum, and Grace Siebert took 4^th Place.  The Lady Ravens are the League Champions in the Sprint Medley (Ally Keimig, Avery Wagner, Hana Ronnebaum, Grace Siebert) with Grace Siebert’s come-from-behind anchor leg to win the race for ACES.

Nathan Peltzer led the 7^th grade boys, as he placed in the 200, 400, and Long Jump. The Sprint Medley team of Cole Batemon, Colten Kocour, Matthew Schrick, and Nathan Peltzer finished 4^th to score points for ACES.

The 8^th Grade Boys were led by Nick Caudle, who ended his outstanding middle school track career with 4 Gold Medals. Nick Caudle won the High Jump, Long Jump, 100, and 400. Sterling Falk also greatly helped the Ravens with his 2^nd Place finish in the Mile and 3^rd Place finish in the 800.

The ACES Track and Field team competed well at the Pleasant Ridge Invitational on Thursday, April 25th. The team enjoyed nice spring weather, after the meet was postponed on Tuesday due to snow and record low temperatures. The 6th and 7th grade boys captured the 2nd place plaque in their division, finishing only behind Pleasant Ridge. ACES took 3rd place in each of the other meet divisions for a strong overall finish by the Ravens.

The Ravens will compete in the DVL Championships Track and Field Meet on Saturday, May 4th, at ACCHS Track. Field events begin at 9:00 AM and Running Events begin at noon. Go Runnin' Ravens!

The ACES Track and Field Team competed at Atchison High School on Monday night at the AMS Quad. The Ravens enjoyed several PR’s at the meet with warmer weather, an all-weather track, and tough competition.

The Lady Ravens finished the meet in 2^nd Place overall, with 179 total points, finishing only behind host Atchison Middle School. The Ravens finished in 3^rd Place overall, with 185 points. Atchison Middle School won both the boys and girls divisions.

The ACES Knowledge Bowl team had a great end to their season at the Delaware Valley League Meet. Both the ACES 7^th and 8^th Grade teams won their pools to advance to the semifinal rounds. ACES 7^th Graders captured silver medals by taking 2^nd place in the Delaware Valley League. The Raven 8^th Graders finished in 4^th place.

The 7^th Grade team faced Riverside and Valley Falls in pool play. The Ravens defeated Riverside 40-30, and then breezed past Valley Falls 80-30. With those 2 wins, ACES won their pool and advanced to the semifinal match against McLouth. The Ravens made things exciting as the match was tied 60-60 after the final question. Haylie Folsom sent the Ravens to the championship match with her correct answer to the extra question. The Ravens defeated the Bulldogs 70-60 to advance to the final. In the championship match, ACES faced JCN. While the Ravens played a tough round, they ultimately fell to the Chargers 70-30. In the consolation match, ACCJHS defeated McLouth. The loss in the championship match earned the Ravens 2^nd place in the league and the students were awarded with DVL silver medals. Mason DeMeritt led the Ravens in the DVL meet with 80 points. Lauren Kocour scored 40 points, while Haylie Folsom and Isaac Henderson added 30 points each. Blake Mispagel scored 20 points for the Ravens by correctly answering two math questions. Dawson Eylar and Maria Hrenchir also answered questions correctly to score 10 points each for ACES. Congratulations to all the ACES 7^th Graders for a great Knowledge Bowl season.

In the 8^th Grade division, ACES competed against McLouth and Pleasant Ridge in their pool play rounds. ACES defeated Pleasant Ridge 100-10. The Ravens then played a solid game against McLouth, as they hung on for a 55-50 win. At one point in the match, ACES was down 0-40, and then battled back to win. ACES and McLouth both answered the last question of the round incorrectly to allow the Ravens to win and advance to the semifinal match. In the semifinals, ACES faced Xavier, where ACES was defeated 110-20. The Ravens then played in the consolation match against Jackson Heights. ACES lost to Jackson Heights 60-40 to give the Ravens 4^th place in the DVL. Sterling Falk and Annie Hrenchir led the Ravens in scoring during the DVL Championship meet, as they each scored 70 points. Delaney Elias added 30 points, and Nolan DuLac scored 20 points for ACES. Lexi Griffin and Eli Pachot each added 10 more points. Congratulations to all the 8^th Graders for playing an outstanding Knowledge Bowl season at ACES.

ACES concluded the regular season with several more great scores and competitive rounds of Knowledge Bowl at Valley Falls on Thursday night. The Raven 8th Grade team was victorious against Troy, McLouth, and Doniphan West. Their only loss of the night came against Valley Falls. In the 7th Grade Division, ACES won against Valley Falls, but lost to McLouth,Troy, and Doniphan West.

In the 8th Grade Meet, Sterling Falk led the Ravens with 70 points. Annie Hrenchir was also a key contributer with her 65 points. Delaney Elias added 45 points, Eli Panchot scored 40 points, and Nolan DuLac scored 10 points.

The 7th Graders also experienced some success at Valley Falls. Blake Mispagel led the Ravens with 35 points. Haylie Folsom and Maria Hrenchir scored 30 points each to greatly help the Ravens. Dawson Eylar scored 25 points for the Ravens, and Haley Miller scored 10 points.

The Ravens will end the season at ACCMS, as they compete in the DVL League Championships on Monday, March 11, beginning at 4:00 PM. Go Ravens!

The ACES Ravens Knowledge Bowl team was nearly perfect on Tuesday night, with both the 7th and 8th grade Knowledge Bowl teams finishing undefeated at 3-0. ACES won matches against Riverside, McLouth, and Doniphan West.

Raven Knowledge Bowl Competitors played 3 very strong rounds. Nolan DuLac and Sterling Falk led the Ravens with 40 points each for the 8th Grade Team. Delaney Elias totaled 35 points. Annie Hrenchir added 30 points, while Eli Panchot contributed 20 points.

The ACES Knowledge Bowl team competed at Troy on Monday night, March 4th. The 8th Grade Team defeated Riverside and Troy, but fell to JCN. In the 7th Grade Division, the Ravens beat Riverside before falling to Troy and JCN.
